A series of pools along one of the paths into Emiquon serves as an oasis of life in the mostly baren fields that will one day be restored prairies.

In 2005, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) organized a group of local citizens to help document "...a new beginning of infinite possibilities." I wasn't part of that group, but recently one of the members, Lizanne Gray, asked me to assist her in her effort to photograph the transformation. I am excited to be part of this project and to be able to witness the transformation first hand.
